Audiolab 7000CDT CD Transport

Outwardly resembling the sequential series and therefore offering a brand-wide visual aesthetic match, the Audiolab 7000CDT improves on the 6000CDT with a new mechanism, USB HDD playback and a new full-colour IPS LCD screen! More compact than the 9000 series and perfectly matched to the 6000 and 8300 series, it maintains crisp ergonomics, high-quality engineering and an excellent all-round performance.

New Series, Same Standards

The 7000CDT uses a high-precision optical system with an electronic data buffer for accurate and seamless CD playback. Very similar technology to the 9000CDT, the 7000CDT uses a read-ahead digital buffer to reduce disc-reading failures, helping it plays scratched and damaged CDs that may be unreadable by conventional mechanisms. To ensure a flawless signal reaches the accompanying DAC, the coaxial output of the 7000CDT is fed from a differential line driver. The master clock is controlled by a high-accuracy crystal oscillator, enabling the digital output from both coaxial and optical sockets to exhibit vanishingly low levels of jitter (digital distortion).

Isolation From Vibration

The low-friction loading tray, sturdy aluminium base and chassis of the 7000CDT work to tackle vibrations that are experienced due to the mechanics of a high-spin-velocity motor. Further, the transport is mounted in its own, electromagnetically shielded enclosure with a dedicated power supply. All of these contribute to the exemplary digital signal extraction, while the proven resonance reduction further improves performance and onward effect in ancillary Hi-Fi equipment and signal chains.

Digital Files In Any Format

In addition to the class-leading CD playback design, the 7000CDT also offers digital music files compatibly via a dedicated USB 'Type A' connection, to the rear of the unit. Every significant hi-res and lossless audio format is catered for, including WAV, AAC and WMA, as well as compressed legacy MP3 formats.

About the brand

Formed in the early 1980s by Philip Swift and Derek Scotland, audiolab earned worldwide acclaim with the 8000A - an integrated stereo amplifier that became a classic ‘step-up' from the budget models of the time.

During the ensuing years, the 8000A established itself as one of the most successful British amps ever produced, and was joined by a range of electronics including CD players, pre/power amps and an FM tuner. The brand switched hands in 1997, changing its name to TAG McLaren Audio; and it so was known until 2004 when audiolab became part of the International Audio Group and returned to its original name.

Over the years, audiolab's no-nonsense, evolutionary approach to design has widely been recognised."

In 2010 audiolab began the introduction of its latest full-width 8200 Series components, combining the company's original ethos of simple, well-constructed ergonomics and crisp, transparent sound with innovative, performance-led design concepts.

In 2011, the arrival of the M-DAC heralded a new, compact range called LAB Series, further expanded by the Q-DAC and M-PWR. Since the launch of the 8200 Series and LAB Series, audiolab has won more major awards in UK hi-fi magazines than any other brand of high-performance audio electronics.

2015 sees the launch of audiolab‘s brand new 8300 Series. With a long working relationship with audiolab, world renowned audio designer Jan Ertner has headed up the design of the 8300 series and more…

2018 Saw the launch of the 6000 Series. The 6000A was the first in the series to be released recieving many significant awards from UK hi-fi magazines and online influencers, setting the presidence for the 6000CDT and 6000N Play.

Delivery is free for all orders over £250.

'In Stock' items ordered before 1pm will be dispatched the same day.

We use DPD Local 'Next Day Service' for most UK deliveries. Orders sent via 'DPD Local - Next Day Service' will be fully tracked with a 1-hour delivery timeslot on the day of delivery. Standard delivery is Monday to Friday.

Saturday delivery can be selected at checkout for £19.95.

Small items and LP's may be sent using Royal Mail.

Large/heavy items may be sent using TNT Express.
