The stunning CS-6PH offers two Phono Inputs, with both MM and MC compatibility.
It is suitable for the most demanding cartridges as it supports the connection of turntables with two different cartridges or the connection of two turntables, each having different MM or MC cartridges.
With a single easy selection on the front, you can choose to operate the MM or MC Input.
Tubes
CS-6PH is a flagship all-tube phono preamplifier and is built to the same incredibly high standards as the other Tube Amplifiers from Cayin.
Two carefully hand selected 6922 valves from Electro Harmonix are used for MC Amplification, two ECC83 valves from JJ Electronics are used for MM Amplification and employ incredibly accurate and tight tolerance RIAA equalisation networks.
In the CS-6PH the signal is then directed to the 12AT7 serving as the Output Stage.
Furthermore, CS-6PH employs two RCA 22DE4 for Tube Rectification to minimise the ripple effect from Power Interference.
Gain
The LOW/MED/ HIGH Gain switch is conveniently located on the front of CS-6PH and uses a very high end contact assembly for the switching process.
The Gain may also be changed from 40dB to 57dB, 61dB or 65dB.
Typically the 40dB is for moving magnet cartridges and the 57dB, 61dB and 65dB gain settings are for moving coil.
Your CS-6PH comes factory set for 40dB.
Input Impedance/Input Capacitance:
Out of factory the CS-6PH is set to 40dB and 47k ohm/47pF for MM.
It is the perfect starting point for most users.
With the CAP Switch on the front, Input Capacitance of MM can be adjusted. You can choose to use 47pF or 100pF for MM which covers almost all MM configurations.
CS-6PH is also equipped with a flexible set of cartridge loading options for MC cartrides.
The input impedance of the MC input can be adjusted to meet the needs of any high-end MC cartridges from 47 ohms, 100 ohms, 200 ohms, 470 ohms and 1000 ohm.
The impedance selector is located on the right of the front panel, and again the switching is performed via a very high end switching circuit ensuring that the signal path and therefore musicality is kept at its absolute maximum performance on all loading selections.
Filter
To achieve the very best sound results a special Low Pass Filter circuit has been used to prevent low-frequency deflections. On the front panel, there is Rumble Switch where you can choose to have it in or out of circuit.
Outputs
CS-6PH offers a Balanced Analogue Output as well as Unbalanced Analogue Output allowing you to connect to a wide range of High-end Amplifiers.
Power Supply
With decades of experience in the development of exclusive hand-crafted Tube Amplifiers, Cayin has always developed its own Transformers with its own technology.
In the CS-6PH, Cayin have specifically designed an incredibly bespoke EI Power Transformer for power supply provision, allowing the full untapped potential of the design to be realised.
Combined with the ultra-low noise voltage regulation circuit, the CS-6PH guarantees a pure, low noise and stable power output.
Handmade
Each CS-6PH Phono preamplifier is assembled by hand in Cayin's factory by highly qualified technicians.
A final multi-stepped quality and listening test is carried out, which checks not only each operation and every functionality but also makes sure that the sound is up to the full Cayin reference standard.
Premium Parts
Our design is laden with audio grade capacitors and carbon film resistors, fully bespoke in-house made EI transformers for the critical power supply sections, the very best ceramic tube sockets, high-end silver relays, a reflection of the inherent "no compromise" approach and core DNA of the Cayin design ethic.

As a result, once switched off and on again you do not need to check and worry about the setting again. Protection and Long Lifetime
In order to run the system with maximum reliability, Cayin have included a very cleverly designed soft start circuit.
Just wait for about 60 seconds, and this gives the tubes the perfect period of warm up through a careful start-up procedure of incrementing voltage application - this ensures the longevity of your valves, and maximises the performance.
After this warm-up cycle, the CS-6PH will operate in its very highest performing condition, time to enjoy your LP collection to the full.
Have little ones at home? Cayin have also included one easily installed tube cover for protection so that you do not need to worry about the hot tubes and curious fingers !
