Product Description

Epic USB bridges the performance gap that existed between the Shawline and Signature USB cables and features our unique Tuned ARAY conductor concept. It is built in a very similar manner to the Signature Super ARAY USB and while the conductors are slightly different, in just about every other respect the same design philosophy is applied.

Epic USB contains four conductors, (two of which are individually shielded), improved effective gauge silver-plated copper conductors and uprated PTFE insulation. The earth shielding connection is further protected from high frequency noise with a two layer braided screen.

This cable also benefits from refined USB connectors (type A and B), silver-plated to our specifications in the UK, with all connections soldered by our engineers.

We believe these changes contribute to a significant improvement in performance and set a new standard for this level of USB cable. Like the Epic streaming cable, the Epic USB can help your system sound more musically coherent, involving and detailed. We dont produce any product unless it adds to the musical experience, so put any preconceptions to one side, borrow one and have a listen.

Available in 1m lengths as standard. Longer custom lengths up to 5m are available to order.

The rosin-rish tone of the violin was perfectly pitched against the gentle percussion of Amer's piano... sweeping you along... more refined, possessed of great control and delivering energy and passion when required as slickly as it will reveal subtle details.

The thunderous energy of the horns and flashes of percussion that sparkle in a broad and deep soundstage.

The effect this has on the music is to lower the noise floor and help small details that can otherwise be lost to be more readily perceivable. With the cable in place there is a broadening to the scale and three-dimensionality... gloriously expansive and there is a perceivable feeling of the live venue.

About the brand

The Chord Company was formed in 1984. It all started over dinner one night in Salisbury, when a group of visiting Naim Audio USA retailers asked Naim Audio UK for a good-quality DIN-to-RCA interconnect. At the table, was one Sally Gibb, then married to a Naim Audio executive, who made the (historic) suggestion that she make the cables and start a business. With the blessing of Naim Audio, the journey to make cables for America began.

With USA referring to cables as ‘cords’, the name The Chord Company, with its obvious musical connotations, seemed perfect and it quickly stuck. Sally drew a logo, designed the packaging and started testing prototypes. Completely British design and construction, although difficult to source at the time, was paramount and days of searching eventually led to suppliers of sufficient quality. Friends at Naim Audio provided expertise and advice, with many of them helping to build the cables.

The first prototype was named "Chrysalis Cable" and the Americans swiftly returned with an initial order of 250! Cables were built, tested, packed and taken along to the Post Office. Invoices were typed on a typewriter! After two steady years, The Chord Company got its first press review (by Malcolm Steward) and then the phone started to ring…

Delivery is free for all orders over £250.

'In Stock' items ordered before 1pm will be dispatched the same day.

We use DPD Local 'Next Day Service' for most UK deliveries. Orders sent via 'DPD Local - Next Day Service' will be fully tracked with a 1-hour delivery timeslot on the day of delivery. Standard delivery is Monday to Friday.

Saturday delivery can be selected at checkout for £19.95.

Small items and LP's may be sent using Royal Mail.

Large/heavy items may be sent using TNT Express.
