Grandinote's Massimiliano Magri  explains the SRT technology :

"It's been many, many years that we have tried to get a truly great sound from crossover-less speakers.

We have understood that in fact the only way to get to this goal, is to use drivers that don't actually exist...

We tested a lot of full-range and extended-range drivers:

  • always the sound was "nasal", annoying in the high frequencies.

These problems are caused by the high frequencies break-up of the drivers.

By the crossover, these break-up's are killed, but the crossover also kills a lot of musicality.

Our solution is to use a "mechanical" crossover.

We obtain this by a special treatment behind the drivers membranes.

This treatment kills break-up, without stealing musicality - this is the holy grail in loudspeaker design.

Finally we have our driver design which perform unlike anything else you will have ever heard, and all without a crossover, this has resulted in :

  • simply the best voicing that I ever ever experienced from loudspeakers.

This treatment also positively modifies drivers parameters, especially the Fs (driver free air resonance, the lower the better) and the Qts (how strong the motor and magnet system are).

We created drivers with low Fs and high Qts.

These parameters are perfect for transmission line and other similar configurations.

We developed a solution which is geographically designed in the middle between bass reflex and transmission line.

Our cabinet has a special  geometric 'tube' style topology, with a large bespoke downward port.

This tube is too short for a transmission line: it's another bespoke design entirely !

We call this solution "Semi Resonance Tube": S.R.T.

In this way, we have very deep, tight, fast bass, very different that all other speakers that I listened to..."

About the brand

I'm Massimiliano Magri, the CEO of Grandinote, designer of Magnetosolid® Technology and the Mach speakers.

I was born in 1973;

I got a degree in electronic engineering in 1997, and in the 1996 I built my first audio amplifier.

It was made with tubes:

I always designed and made by myself all my output transformers.

Delivery Information

Delivery is free for all orders over £250.

'In Stock' items ordered before 1pm will be dispatched the same day.

We use DPD Local 'Next Day Service' for most UK deliveries. Orders sent via 'DPD Local - Next Day Service' will be fully tracked with a 1-hour delivery timeslot on the day of delivery. Standard delivery is Monday to Friday.

Saturday delivery can be selected at checkout for £19.95.

Small items and LP's may be sent using Royal Mail.

Large/heavy items may be sent using TNT Express.
