At the heart of the iDSD GR 2 is a Burr Brown PCM1795 DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) which delivers precise, ultra-low distortion audio. Paired with Class A op-amps and high grade components, the precision sound maintains a natural, analogue character, giving you the best of all worlds – smooth, fatigue-free sound that doesn’t miss any of the detail.

K2HD technology for sound restoration
Featuring JVCKENWOOD’s K2HD technology, the iDSD GR 2 uses a unique upsampling harmonic restoration algorithm to restore depth, tone and seamless musicality to recordings. The result is sound that feels closer to the original recording. For a similar effect, without upsampling, a more basic K2 mode is also available.

With up to 1513mW power output (into 32 ohms), the iDSD GR 2 easily drives the most power-hungry headphones, meaning that you get to hear your headphones at their best, with the full bass potential finally revealed.

Suits standard and balanced headphones
Twin headphone outputs make this iFi Audio headphone amp suitable for both balanced and standard headphones. Use the 4.4mm balanced output with your compatible headphones and get optimised sound from the amp’s fully balanced circuitry. For regular headphones, a single-ended 3.5mm output with iFi’s S-Balanced tech cuts crosstalk and background noise, helping to enhance every headphone design.

Also connects to your Bluetooth headphones
If you prefer to connect to Bluetooth headphones, the iDSD GR 2’s Bluetooth 5.4 output ensures high quality, wireless sound. Compatible with aptX Lossless and LDAC codecs, you get premium quality, detail-rich audio when used with compatible headphones.

Multi-connection inputs
The iDSD GR 2 is a versatile DAC, with a wide range of inputs to choose from. USB-C makes the ideal connection from your laptop or smartphone. For other devices, there’s an SPDIF 3.5mm input that’s compatible with both optical and coaxial signals – ideal for a CD player or music streamer. There are also line level 3.5mm/4.4mm inputs, making it the ideal desktop system hub for selecting multiple sources for your headphones.

Hybrid power mode for desktop use
Another feature which makes this premium DAC/headphone amp ideal for desktop use is the hybrid power mode. When connected to an external power source, the GR 2 prioritises mains power, drawing current from the internal battery only if needed. This helps preserve the battery life and long-term health.
