POPORI WR1 SE
Popori's history begins in 1996, when the Hungarian engineer Otto Popori starts repairing electrostatic speakers.
Otto Popori eventually uncovered the most common problems and limitations of electrostatic speakers.
These may be things like limited bandwidth, large power requirements and unreliability.
Based on his now vast experience, he set out to design an electrostatic speaker that eliminated these problems, and in 2001 he created his first custom-built speakers.
AN ELECTROSTATIC PLEASURE
Electrostatic speakers are often praised in terms of midrange reproduction and transparency, but at the same time the lack of foundation and thrust is also highlighted as disadvantages.
Through its long experience, Popori has managed to change this.
The WR1 SE is a unique electrostatic loudspeaker that combines the open and liberated midrange this technology is known for with surprising bass reproduction and foundation.
WHAT WILL YOU GET?
A NEAR FULL-FREQUENCY LOUDSPEAKER WITH ELECTROSTAT TECHNOLOGY
The Popori WR1 SE is a medium-sized electrostatic that is easy to operate with its 96dB sensitivity and minimum impedance of 3 Ohm.
A lower limit frequency of 35 Hz is not everyday from an electrostatic construction. The lack of a cabinet, large membrane surface and line source provides a completely unique experience.
The Popori WR1 SE is certainly a speaker to be reckoned with at the very top of its price range.
BUILD QUALITY
SOLID AND THOUGHTFUL CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
The structural elements of the speakers from Popori are made of solid materials.
Materials are used to shape the speaker's body that are ideal for the purpose, both acoustically and structurally.
The base is made from CNC machined solid steel legs and a 6mm thick laser cut steel plate. A solid weight ensures sufficient stability and centre of balance.
The panels are attached with screws, eliminating the disadvantages of gluing used in other electrostatic speakers. Bonding can lead to degradation or even loss of sound quality and performance over time.
The membrane material is UV-resistant, moderately heat-resistant and is not affected by moisture.
This ensures lasting and reliable operation. The diaphragm in the Popori WR1 SE weighs much less than typical diaphragms for speakers on the market that are made with more traditional technologies.
Thanks to the electrostatic push-pull operating principle, the efficiency is extraordinary.
Correctly tuned and damped construction guarantees low distortion of the emitted sound, which in turn provides excellent sound reproduction.
PANEL TECHNOLOGY
PERFECTION IS THE KEY
Thanks to modern technology, Popori's speakers are built with precision.
This is a prerequisite for creating the best possible sound reproduction.
The distance between the diaphragm and the stator is crucial for sound quality and performance. Inaccuracy is unacceptable.
Strings and foil are stitched to perfection, and thorough CNC machining guarantees perfectly parallel surfaces.
This creates the perfect static field that ensures uncompromising performance at all points on the panel.
