The noble wooden chassis come in three high quality wooden finishes: walnut, eucalyptus and rosewood. No other speaker in the 500 segment can offer the superior sound quality of Speaker Box 5 S2 while being manufactured entirely in Europe! With Speaker Box 5 S2 we created a monitor speaker which will satisfy audiophiles as well as professional musicians. Only high quality materials were used when Speaker Box 5 S2 was created. A 25 mm silk dome tweeter delivers crystal-clear highs, the 150 mm fibreglass cone gives full-bodied and lush mids as well as punchy and tight bass. Every speaker of ours has to withstand extreme-condition tests to ensure they fit our highest standards. A very special, resistant and eco friendly glue has been used to hold the cabinet together and to avoid any leakage.

The recommended amplifier power is rated between 10 150 Watts RMS, where it applies as for every speaker: the higher the power of an amplifier the less distortion can be found at lower volumes. Amplifiers with less power are driven to their limits faster at lower volumes, while having more distortion when reaching their peak, this can harm any loudspeaker!

About the brand

Pro-Ject Audio Systems was founded in 1990 in Vienna, Austria, by Heinz Lichtenegger - a young audio enthusiast who believed that analogue playback was the most cost-effective way to listen to music in audiophile quality.

Heinz’s belief in the importance of the turntable came to prominence during a time when vinyl was at death’s door - with the CD revolutionising the wider audio market. However, Heinz stood firm and argued the case for not only analogue replay - but also for the pride and sense of ownership and interaction you simply do not get with digital media. So with this belief, he produced his first turntable - the Pro-Ject 1.

The Pro-Ject 1 was a cost-effective true hi-fi turntable, made at a time when other manufacturers were reverting to cheap plastic alternatives in order to satisfy the dwindling demand. The 1 was made at Pro-Ject’s factory in the Czech Republic (SEV Litovel), at a time when the factory owner was just in the process of shutting down all turntable production. Heinz convinced the factory to make his products, and to this day the same factory is used to produce Pro-Ject’s extensive range of coveted hi-fi turntables.

We use DPD Local 'Next Day Service' for most UK deliveries. Orders sent via 'DPD Local - Next Day Service' will be fully tracked with a 1-hour delivery timeslot on the day of delivery. Standard delivery is Monday to Friday.

Saturday delivery can be selected at checkout for £19.95.
