Innovative miniature sized phono preamplifier with tube output and high end sound!

Tube Box S2 is Pro-Ject's very first product to feature a fully discreet circuit design without using any operational amplifiers (OpAmps). It also is the first product to come with replaceable tubes for tube rolling and sound-shaping. This gives the customer many options to pick from and alter the sound signature to his preference. Tube Box S2 will give a full and relaxed laid back sound with lush mids, just like you would expect it from a much bigger high end tube phono pre-amplifier. It offers support for both MM and MC cartridges and comes with many gain settings to be switched on the front panel. Five variable input impedance settings are available to adjust to any MM cartridge, the 47k ohm input impedance setting is fixed and suited for high output MC cartridges. The aluminium/metal casing is adapted to Pro-Ject's DS2 line in looks and protects against vibrations and electromagnetic interferences for superior sound.

About the brand

Pro-Ject Audio Systems was founded in 1990 in Vienna, Austria, by Heinz Lichtenegger - a young audio enthusiast who believed that analogue playback was the most cost-effective way to listen to music in audiophile quality.

Heinz’s belief in the importance of the turntable came to prominence during a time when vinyl was at death’s door - with the CD revolutionising the wider audio market. However, Heinz stood firm and argued the case for not only analogue replay - but also for the pride and sense of ownership and interaction you simply do not get with digital media. So with this belief, he produced his first turntable - the Pro-Ject 1.

The Pro-Ject 1 was a cost-effective true hi-fi turntable, made at a time when other manufacturers were reverting to cheap plastic alternatives in order to satisfy the dwindling demand. The 1 was made at Pro-Ject’s factory in the Czech Republic (SEV Litovel), at a time when the factory owner was just in the process of shutting down all turntable production. Heinz convinced the factory to make his products, and to this day the same factory is used to produce Pro-Ject’s extensive range of coveted hi-fi turntables.

Delivery is free for all orders over £250.

'In Stock' items ordered before 1pm will be dispatched the same day.

We use DPD Local 'Next Day Service' for most UK deliveries. Orders sent via 'DPD Local - Next Day Service' will be fully tracked with a 1-hour delivery timeslot on the day of delivery. Standard delivery is Monday to Friday.

Saturday delivery can be selected at checkout for £19.95.

Small items and LP's may be sent using Royal Mail.

Large/heavy items may be sent using TNT Express.
