Description
The fully balanced version of the RESTEK EDITOR.
The hi-fi preamplifier is the centre of a stereo system. It manages and forwards all external sources. This is done by switching the signal sources and amplifying or weakening the output signal.
High-Fidelity sound quality without distortion on the preamplifier
Another possible function, the interposition of different filters, has been deliberately avoided in the EDIT+.
The reason for this is that with a high level of the other hi-fi components corresponding to the EDIT+, filter circuits are pointless and could have a negative effect on the sound.
The adjustment to the acoustic conditions of the listening room is only possible to a limited extent with the help of tone controls on the preamplifier. With correspondingly high-quality components and acoustically normal rooms, tone control is more harmful than useful.
Nevertheless, the RESTEK EDIT+ does not necessarily have to do without sound controls. The preamplifier offers the option of using the SPLIT function to loop an external device into the signal path for room adaptation.
Nine high-level inputs are also sufficient for demanding and complex hi-fi systems
The EDIT+ has five XLR high level inputs, and three XLR Outputs.
The RESTEK EDIT+ - a preamplifier with the latest technology
Internally, the EDIT+ consists of two separate, fully symmetrical, identical mono preamplifiers, each with two volume controls. So there are a total of eight potentiometers. The inputs are switched via high-quality signal relays. the earth connections of the non-switched input sockets are separated from the device to avoid ground loops.
The input sensitivity of the selected input can be adjusted within a range of ± 6 dB to compensate for volume differences when switching between the individual inputs.
Using the volume control, the signal can be attenuated down to -95 dB or amplified up to +10 dB. The two separately controllable outputs can be leveled against each other in a range of ± 6 dB and, if desired, can also be set synchronously with each other.
The output drivers of the pre-amplifier establish the connection to the power amplifiers or active loudspeakers. The low output resistance of 50 ohms and the maximum current of up to 200 mA rms of these driver stages enables correct line adaptation on the one hand and the use of sometimes unavoidably long connecting cables between the preamplifier and the power amplifiers without the music signal being impaired by the cables.
All parts of the electronics of the EDIT+ are DC-coupled, making it possible to transmit even the lowest frequencies. This means that even in the lower frequency spectrum, transmission is distortion-free and phase-locked.
There are no capacitors or electrolytic capacitors in the signal path that could cause corruption. Noise and crosstalk can only be detected at the measuring limit.
The claim to ease of use and great functionality is realized through the ability to operate all special functions using the remote control or a single button.
The design of the preamplifier remains puristically clear, since the sophisticated and at the same time impressive concept of one-button operation does not require any further buttons, buttons, controls or the like.
