Certainly, the tuner in the composite of hi-fi source devices is the most technically complex device. This is no less true in the digital age than in the digital age. A cable tuner must be able to accurately filter out the hi-fi signal of the called transmitter in the chaos of the various digital frequencies surrounding it. In developing this high-quality digital radio for cable reception, we have been able to draw on our extensive experience and knowledge gained from the development and production of our famous analog reference radios.

With the MACB + tuner, we have isolated the entire cable reception technology potential from the audio electronics. This is how we avoid ground loops and couplings. A high-quality sample rate converter and a high-quality 24-bit 192 kS multibit digital-to-analog converter allow you to set a variety of bit resolutions and conversion rates for maximum sound resolution.

The signal can be attenuated to -99 dB in 1 dB increments by means of the volume control that can be switched on and off. The volume control also allows direct connection of the MACB + tuner to powered speakers or a power amplifier. This creates a high quality small complete system for the passionate Radio Gourmet.The drivers of the analog cinch outputs connect to the preamplifier, the power amplifiers or the active loudspeakers. The low output resistance of 50 ohms and the maximum current of up to 35 mA rms of these driver stages allow both a correct line adaptation and the use of sometimes unavoidably long connection cables without affecting the music signal through the cables.

All parts of the electronics of the MCAB are DC-coupled, so that error-free transmission of even the lowest frequencies is possible. There are no capacitors or capacitors in the signal path, which could cause a falsification of the reproduction. Noise and crosstalk are inaudible and only noticeable at the technical measuring limit.

Like all other M Series RESTEK devices, the cable tuner has been optimized for ease-of-use: operating all functions with a single multi-function switch is straightforward and part of the device's minimalist design.
