Preludio

Preludio is an integrated tube amplifier that maintains the distinctive technical elements, sound characteristics and stunning looks that Unison Research is known for. It bears an obvious resemblance to the higher-end Sinfonia and Performance amplifiers, but maintains a very appealing price for a product of such prestige.

Using double triode ECC82 valves the Preludios pre and power amplification gives an exclusively valve amp performance that delivers a natural and dynamic presentation.

Special attention has been dedicated to the design of the output stage, which is based on two KT88 tubes. Tried and extensively tested, the bias setting of the KT88s ensures the best sound performance even after many years, and also contributes to minimising the time it takes for the tubes to warm up to optimal temperature.

Every part of the Preludio has been thoroughly thought out from the circuit boards to the control knobs to offer a premium design and a premium sound. For example, the top-plate is not just good looking, it's made from amagnetic stainless steel with low heat conduction to stop the heat generated by the KT-88s interfering with the internal circuitry.

Unison Research was founded in 1987 by a group of passionate audiophiles led by Giovanni Maria Sacchetti. Born in 1945, Giovanni Maria Sacchetti devoted himself at an early age to the study and design of hi-fi systems, combining his interest in electronics with a passion for music inherited from his father, an expert pianist. After completing his studies in electronics, he devoted twenty-five years to teaching while at the same time designing and developing amplifiers for Unison Research.

The first integrated amplifier he designed for Unison Research was the TRIODE20. Its successor, the SIMPLY TWO, was a key step forward in the companyâ€™s historyâ€”this legendary amplifier was instrumental in achieving great international success for Unison Research in a relatively short time.

Our experience has increased over the years, along with our continuing research of high performance and high quality standards. This has led Unison Research to both historical achievements and great value when it comes to the development of our products. Best of all, we have achieved this through a completely Italian operationâ€¦from design to production.

Unison Research is now recognized as the Italian leader in the production of tube amplifiers, and among the top ten in Europe.

Delivery is free for all orders over £250.

'In Stock' items ordered before 1pm will be dispatched the same day.

We use DPD Local 'Next Day Service' for most UK deliveries. Orders sent via 'DPD Local - Next Day Service' will be fully tracked with a 1-hour delivery timeslot on the day of delivery. Standard delivery is Monday to Friday.

Saturday delivery can be selected at checkout for £19.95.

Small items and LP's may be sent using Royal Mail.

Large/heavy items may be sent using TNT Express.
